Backup generator for home reviews11/24/2023 I just paid for a new unit, I don't want parts, I want a new unit. He states that they aren't going to send a new unit but replace parts. He states he has my case and starts talking to me. In the meantime, a couple days later I get a call from Generac in the US (I'm in Canada). Ok, installer gets on the phone and states he wants a brand new unit sent. They had checked the oil when installing it because they showed me how to do it. Call the installers, they come right back and tell me the engine is seized. About 3 hours into it, the genny comes to an abrupt halt. They are busy so its gonna take a while so I fire up the Generator and enjoy some power in the house. Now the installers are gone and I am waiting for Hydro to come back to restore power. awesome! I have full power and happy times. Ok now we are registered and they start up the machine. Ok the installers call in and we wait over an hour for someone to pick up the line and get this done. Once unit is installed, they let me know that I need to register online so they can start the brand new unit up. ![]() Story: August 25th, 2023 - Hydro shut off for installation, Installers show up on time and go right to work. They were great and continue to be great. Great service from installers, no so great as a lemon engine First off, this review is not any reflection on the seller/installer. This gives me piece of mind during the cold, Alaskan winters. It kicked on when it was supposed to and was as seamless as advertised. What I appreciated most was that there was no interruption in power at my house during the outage except noticing that my 1980s alarm clock was blinking. I remember hearing the generator working one of the times I woke up however, it was not loud enough to keep me up. I work night shift, and I am a very light sleeper. We had a windstorm in the area, which created power outages throughout the city. I waited to write a review until I experienced if the generator would power up my house during a power outage. Additionally, customer support was very helpful with answering any questions. We were able to hook the generator to the WIFI and download the Mobile Link app. Both Moore Heating and Samson Electric were extremely professional and knowledgeable about the product. Seamless experience The installation process was one of the easiest construction projects I scheduled.
